That wasn't a "power" they had. Or how about the glittering Edward? I think I own the same body glitter that they used. Here is what I was talking about with the translation from book to screen. A sparkling man is okay on the pages of a young adult novel. In a movie he should simply have a warm glow about him because the glitter looks cheap. My third issue is the dialog, which also kills the mood because some lines like "sick, masochistic lion" are nice to read, but when delivered ineptly in the movie it moves one to chuckles because of how goofy it sounds. It was not a complete loss because the baseball scene was fabulous. Set to Muse's "Super Massive Black Hole, the game plays out just as it should even up to the entrance of the antagonistic vampires. If only the care taken with this scene had been applied to then entire movie, this film could have been superior because of all the potential it held. All in all, the average person does not need to spend money on this film. In the end, this movie will make a lot of money because of teen girls who are too blinded by Robert Pattinson to realize the film semi-sucks (pun intended. The money made will definitely be put toward New Moon, which will also make money. Hopefully, the second film will be more professional and worth two hours of my time.
